Sean Smith - Principal Process Consultant

Sean is a proven process change agent having worked in both Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC) and Owners teams. Sean has over 22 years of experience encompassing most aspects of the Capital Project initiation, execution and close out.

A change agent, able to facilitate the identification of process issues through the use of the Lean Six Sigma methodology and tools and then manage the delivery of the resulting improvement projects utilizing the PRINCE2 method.

Sean’s’ ICT project management skills enhance his business improvement capabilities by giving him insight into when automation is viable as a solution, and when it is not.

Sean is a Six sigma black belt, trainer, mentor and coach in the Lean Six Sigma methodologies for Yellow Belts and Champions, having run many multi-day courses for groups of up to 15. He was also responsible for mentoring candidates through Yellow Belt certification which required the completion of an improvement initiative.

Sean as a Six Sigma Black Belt was tasked with the optimization of processes within the Bechtel group. The nature of the work required working in any function and developing an in-depth understanding of the processes in question, this was generally achieved as a process mapping exercise. Over time a complete picture of typical capital projects processes was built.
